It’s the first Wednesday of the month and time for another posting of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group.

I had this plan for what I wanted to do in May. That plan flew out the window when I saw an image and knew I just had to have it as it was perfect for a book cover I haven’t really been happy with. And so I updated the interior (backmatter, etc.) and the new cover — and I even did the audiobook. I know I was supposed to work on a different series, but hey, blame the change in seasons for my distraction. LOL.

I uploaded the changes this week, so they’ll probably take a bit of time to filter through to all the marketplaces.
This cover fits better with the content of the book, the overall series branding, and with my author brand.
We’ll see what difference it makes in the sales of the book itself once the updates are through.
I had decided to focus on my Faery Tales series after I’m done with my Irascible Immortals series after getting this message in February on Instagram while talking to a fan:

It’s the kind of message that makes an author’s heart happy!
Audio editing can be such a pain with my ADHD, but I’m getting there. Doing things like this in-between helps break up the monotony, so hopefully I’ll finish up the audiobooks for the Irascible Immortals sooner rather than later. LOL.
As I work through the Faery Tales series’ audiobooks, I’ll update the interior (backmatter, etc.) and covers (the written by human sticker) as I upload the audio (then I can get a golden star next to each title on my printed booklist!). Yeah, I need to reward myself with golden stars for work done… my inner child loves stickers!

What have you done for your backlist lately? You can learn loads more on my For Authors page here.
That last cover is the best.
Thanks, Alex. I think so, too 🙂
I really like your last cover too.
Thanks, Natalie!
Definitely an evolution to the better with the book cover.
The backlist… yeah, I don’t do much for it. I can’t afford to redo covers even if I had any ideas, so I give the older books a shout-out now and then and hope for the best. So… about up to my usual marketing plan!
Thanks, Rebecca 🙂 I love your book covers — they’re clearly well thought out before they’re used, unlike mine that I just rush in (like I do most things).
Yes, I’m thinking about doing thiings for my backlist. Didnt get very far with one thing I did actually do, but not get it pretty enough to actually put on the Amazon pages. And now I need to give some love to my Viridian series before the prequel comes out. If you’ve got space to give it a shout out, please elt me know. 🙂
A prequel sounds like a great way to revitalise your backlist!
