A little out of schedule (it’s a blog hop!) to introduce Elaine Kaye’s new children’s book.
Blog Hop Question: What is your favorite holiday memory?
(This includes Hanukkah, Kwanza, Yule/Winter Solstice, Christmas, etc.)
My Memory:
The day Saphira went to be euthanised (a week before Christmas in 2013), I felt this pull to go to the local pet shop. And Antonio and Callum were waiting for me. I lost Tony last year (Addison’s Disease coupled with DCM).
Callum is still going strong. When I got him he wasn’t even six weeks old — he turned six (years) on Monday! He wasn’t even six kilograms when I got him — he is now 60 kg! In the six years we’ve been together, we’ve spent Christmas Day swimming (he gets in the pool reluctantly) and eating treats (I get ice-cream and he gets biltong!). Hopefully we can take a photo together on Christmas Day that doesn’t come out blurry (my little warrior hates photos!).
New Picture Book Release from Elaine Kaye:
On Christmas Eve, Gregory and Sammy get a special visitor—Santa Claus! Santa brings them on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure around the world and to the North Pole. Bundle up and come along for the ride!

Aw, he was a special Christmas gift. My pets are part of my Christmas and always have been.
Thanks, Diane 🙂 They are perfect companions for every holiday — and all the days in between!
I’ve read a few of Elaine’s books. They’re darling, perfect for kids.

Good to know! I can get them for my niece 🙂
I am so sorry to hear about Saphira and Antonio, but Callum does look like a strong, good boy.

Absolutely! Thanks, Sherry 🙂
Precious doggy. I have a dog, that someone just dumped at the roadside. Why do people do that? I’ve kept him for almost two years. Advertised about him. No reply.
People can be so cruel! It’s awesome that you took him in 🙂
Ah, that so sweet.
Thanks, Juneta 🙂
Oh, I just can’t with the cuteness! 😀
This is such a sad and sweet tale. You’ve had your share of losses but you keep on loving. I hope you get that picture this year.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Toi 🙂 Hopefully he stops thinking that I want to steal his soul with my camera 😉
I’m focusing on the happy part of your story. Callum looks like a great companion.
Thanks, Diane 🙂 He is such a sweetheart — now that he is older and calmer 😉
