Y is for The Black Eyed Peas
As I mentioned in my theme-reveal post, this month will be all about music and how it inspires my writing.
The Black Eyed Peas have been in my music library for as long as I can remember. Today I’m specifically looking at their album “The E.N.D.”. Which is why I chose them for “Y” – check out the word of the day. Anyhow, this is a great album to listen to when energy levels are low. And they are on my “party” playlist (there are plenty of parties in young adult stories). Of course, “I Gotta Feeling” is my favourite song from this album.
Word of the day: yackety-yak
According to Collins English dictionary: yackety-yak n slang noisy, continuous, and trivial talk or conversation
Do you like The Black Eyed Peas? Do you have a favourite music group/artist that starts with a “Y”?

My friends at work love Black-Eyed Peas. I like 3 Doors Down whose “When I’m Gone” sparked my novella, BLOOD WILL TELL, about a telepath who finds himself the only human unpossessed by alien blood. As I wrote, I kept hearing these lyrics:
“And roaming through this darkness I’m alive but I’m alone
Part of me is fighting this but part of me is gone.”
You have this A TO Z Challenge like a champion. 🙂
Thanks, Roland 🙂 I love 3 Doors Down! It’s so great to hear how music has inspired you to write.
Love the Black Eye Peas but can’t listen to them while I write. I lean toward music without lyrics so that I don’t get too distracted. Great A to Z theme! – Dragons & Spaceships
Thank you 🙂 At some point, I know the songs so well that I don’t hear the lyrics anymore!
Love the black eyed peas!
Also, I have to tell you, Ronel, your site is so hard to leave a comment on. Usually, after I’ve commented on a site just once I don’t have to fill out my information again, but yours makes me do it every time. Is there anyway to shut that off? I bet you’d get more comments if you did. Just my two cents. :0)
Thanks, Pam. I’ve been looking into it, and every time I think I’ve fixed it, it goes back to that setting. I’ll have to get some help to fix it.
