K is for Kismet
This year I’m taking a break from Faerie and doing an A to Z of my TBR (to be read) list instead. Each letter will have books starting with that letter on my list, a book I’ve read and reviewed (with the review!) and one of my books matching the letter with a link about more info about the book. I’ve decided not to include words like “A”, “The” and “An” during this challenge.

My TBR
About the Book I’ve Read
I found this series when I was searching Amazon for witches living in small towns. Turned out to be Paranormal Women’s Fiction!
A Paranormal Women’s Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!
Welcome to Premonition Pointe, where witches take care of their own.
Grace Valentine had the perfect marriage and a great career managing her husband’s real estate office. Or so she thought until three months ago when she was served with divorce papers. Thanks to her philandering ex, not only is she out of a husband, she’s out of a job, too.
At the age of forty-five with the help of her coven, Grace is ready to pick up the pieces and move on. But her only job prospect is at the rival real estate office, and it’s only for a trial run. She’ll need to prove that she can sell the haunted properties of Premonition Pointe before she’s hired permanently.
But who has time to deal with haunted houses when she’s testing out every anti-perspirant on the market to combat her escalating hot flashes, trying not to succumb to the advances of the hot thirty-four-year-old in her office, and ignoring the urges to hex her ex with erectile disfunction? Okay, maybe she doesn’t ignore the urges. She might be a witch, but she’s only human. Can Grace prove to herself and her new boss she has the magical touch to sell the impossible and find the courage get her groove back… even if her new love interest is a decade younger?

Hope Anderson loves her life. She has a great business that’s thriving, the best friends a girl could ever have, and a coven she can count on. Oh, and she’s been single for over fifteen years and likes it that way… until the love of her life, Lucas King, walks back into town and throws everything she thought she knew about herself into chaos.
If that wasn’t enough, now her mother is in town to warn her about a curse that happens to all the Anderson women when they turn forty-six, and she isn’t talking about hot flashes or mood swings. When her mother moves in and Grace’s business is suddenly on the rocks, it’s going to take all of her magic to get her life back on track. The question is, will Lucas prove he deserves to be traveling that line with her, or will she walk away the same way she did fifteen years ago?

A Paranormal Women’s Fiction with a bit of class, and a lot of sass, for anyone who feels like age is just a number!
Joy Lansing is at a crossroads. Her kids have all flown the nest and just when she thought she was going to spend her golden years with her husband of thirty years, she finds herself single again and looking to rebuild a life she no longer recognizes.
Lucky for Joy she has her three besties and her coven by her side. Because she’s going to need them when she lands a movie role and finds herself hexed by a jealous costar. Finding yourself a minor film star at the age of forty-eight is more than a little overwhelming. But when it comes with bad press and a hot celebrity determined to date her, Joy is in way over her head. She’s going to need all her magic to navigate this one, or her new career might be over before it starts.

Clarity “Gigi” Martin moved to Premonition Pointe for a fresh start. And that’s exactly what she got when she found a house that was connected to her ancestors and a group of witches who welcomed her into their fold. It’s not easy starting over at forty, but she’s determined to do it on her own terms with her past left firmly behind her… until Sebastian Knight walks back into her life. He’s the one person she’d ever truly trusted, and also the one person that threatens to break open the past she never wants to visit again.
Now Gigi has two choices, chose to keep running or put her heart and soul on the line for a future she’s always wanted but was always out of reach.

Iris Hartman thought she’d finally gotten everything she’d ever wanted. She had her dream job of mayor of Premonition Pointe and was married to a handsome, charismatic man who adored her. But after finding out her husband was involved with a local drug dealer, she suddenly found herself single and forced to step down as mayor. Now she’s starting over. But when a curse hits Premonition Pointe and tourism dries up, turning the beach town into a ghost town, Iris will do anything to save the village she loves, even if it means leaning on a new man in her life. With the help of the local coven and a too-good-too-be-true neighbor, Iris’s new beginning means tapping into magic she didn’t know she had and maybe even learning to trust again.

Carly Preston has always lived her life by her own rules. At fifty, she doesn’t have many regrets. In fact, there’s only one… the night she lost her co-star in a freak accident. Despite doing everything she could to save him, she’s always blamed herself. But when she mysteriously starts to receive messages from the past, Carly suddenly starts to wonder if everything she thought she knew about that night was a lie. With the help of Premonition Pointe’s coven, Carly is determined to right a wrong, and maybe find a future she never knew she wanted.

My Review
Witching for Grace
I enjoyed the magic, the haunted houses, and the great friendships. I liked that Grace already had her magic and lived in a town of witches and that it was about learning to live her new life after divorce. I also liked that she got a hunky, romantic, younger man who is totally into her – and that her ex got his just deserts.
A fun paranormal midlife read.

Witching for Hope
A fun second-chance love story with a thrilling mystery for Hope to solve with her new telepathy.
So much fun to read.
Just as with the first book, magic and friendship fills Hope’s life.
Can’t wait to read the next book.

Witching for Joy
A fun story with Joy being an actress in the local production of a movie with various on-set shenanigans, some paparazzi drama, and the sudden onset of visions.
Prissy should be hexed with boils and warts for being the most irritating, self-absorbed, shallow person in Premonition Pointe.
My only issue is with the names of the hero and heroine rhyming: Troy and Joy. Cringe.
Who wouldn’t want to look like Joy at 48? A fun midlife read.

Witching for Clarity
Except for Sebastian and her male friends, all the men in this book should’ve ended up at the bottom of the ocean. Serious creep alert! I totally agree with the Hannigan sisters about James.
I’m glad Gigi made peace with her past and is now able to move forward with Sebastian and her coven. Skyler is probably her BFF no matter what, though.
A fun read. Too bad the effings from previous books were spelled out in this one, pulling me from the story. Also, did James have to play such a major part?

Witching for Moxie
There’s so much swearing, I DNFed at 13%.

Witching for Kismet
The book starts angry and it doesn’t get better. DNF.

I hope you enjoyed this. For more books I’ve read and reviewed, check out either my Pinterest board about reviews or my Goodreads profile. Alternatively, you can check out my reviews on BookBub. Have you read any of the books? Loved or hated any of them?
*FYI, my reviews are my honest opinion and if something bothers me, I tell it straight. How else will anything change? My opinions are based on being a voracious reader and book buyer, not an attack on the author.*

All the best for the rest of the challenge
Thanks!
This time, I see an author I’ve read–James Rollins. Not this book, though!
I’ve added quite a few of his books to my TBR — still have to read them, though 🙂
I absolutely love your unicorn system of rating – brilliant idea 🙂
Debs visiting this year from
Making Yourself Relationship Ready
Thanks, Debs! I just love unicorns 🙂
I really like the concept of this series, too bad the later volumes didn’t seem worth it…
The Multicolored Diary
Yeah, it’s like she didn’t remember what the core of the stories were or the voice she’d used.
Sounds like a good series featuring older women, although I’m usually not a fan of giving them younger lovers, sounds a bit ageist.
Not all have younger lovers, but I do like that for the men age is just a number.
