Book Review: A Lamb in Wolf’s Clothing by @VirginiaWaytes #bookreview #Paranormal #Romance

I first encountered The Manor during the A-Z Challenge this April when visiting Virginia’s Parlour. The character profiles and introduction to this world was quite thorough and caught my attention. So I got the first book (which is free on most platforms!).

The Manor – Season 01 Episode 01 (1.01)

Luciana Smythe, Lucy to her friends, owns and runs The Manor, an adult only establishment nestled in the heart of the English Countryside, specifically designed for fun and games of the sexy, X-rated kind. What makes it unique are the residents, supernatural beings hiding in plain sight. Some, like Lucy, a vampire-succubus hybrid, are very powerful paranormal creatures. Others need The Manor’s protection.

The Manor takes in strays and those with nowhere else to go, and Lucy’s latest lost sheep is a young werewolf, Joshua, on the run from his own pack. Inside The Manor’s walls await a new pack, safety, and possible romance, but first Lucy needs to make sure this asylum seeker is what he appears to be and poses no danger to the rest of her found-family.

The Manor is a series of novelettes, divided into seasons, each book a new episode in the exciting and delightfully naughty lives of Lucy and her companions.

My Review

Fast-paced, sexy, supernatural fun with great characters, wonderful worldbuilding and an intriguing plot.

Lucy is an easily liked main character with loads of nuance.

I like that the number one rule of The Manor is consent.

This is the first episode of The Manor – and from what I’ve read thus far, it’s my new Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t wait for my weekly fix!

Highly recommended for those who enjoy well-plotted, sensual stories.

Go ahead and get your free copy of the first episode of season 1 — you’ll read it in less than an hour and be hooked!

  1. I also enjoyed meeting Virginia during the A to Z challenge. I like the idea of serial writing. It’s how many writers like Dickens made a living. In our time, it creates brand loyalty. It takes initiative to write just enough so your readers will come back for more.

I hope you are doing great. I really enjoyed reading your posts during A to Z so I thought Id stop buy to say “Hi”
    Be well.
