P is for Placebo
As I mentioned in my theme-reveal post, this month will be all about music and how it inspires my writing.
I first heard of Placebo when their song “Running Up That Hill” featured in “Bones”, again in “Vampire Diaries” and again in “NCIS: Los Angeles”. Various artists/bands tried to sing this song, but no-one can do it like Placebo. (Google it and listen to the variations, I think you’ll agree with me.)
I can use them as background music while working on various projects – usually the non-fiction type. I do have some of their songs on character playlists.
Favourite album: “Sleeping with Ghosts” Favourite song: “Running Up That Hill”
Word of the day: pitch
According to Collins English dictionary: pitch vb 13 music ato sing or play accurately (a note, interval, etc.) b (usually passive) (of a wind instrument) to specify or indicate its basic key or harmonic series by its size, manufacture, etc.
I know, I’m obsessed with one song.
Do you like Placebo? Do you have a favourite music group/artist that starts with a “P”?

Running up that hill is also used for so many emotional fan videos… it’s a good song for editing scenes to 🙂

I wasn’t familiar with the name of this song. But when I played it, I had one of those ‘Oh… That song!’ moments.
I frequently have those moments 😉
Oh yeah. Cool choice. I’d have thought of Paramore for P.
Or Porno for Pyros.
Paramore is a great choice!
I originally heard this song by Kate Bush in the 80s. Very cool song. I like it by Placebo too. I hadn’t heard of them before.
